About the Kylie Johnston Lung Cancer Network

After being diagnosed with Non Small Cell Lung Cancer in May of 2003, Kylie Johnston became involved in studying treatment options, and advocating for better lung cancer patient support, hope, and research. The Kylie Johnston Lung Cancer Network was formed as an initiative of The Australian Lung Foundation with Kylie being the founder and champion of the Network.


Purpose

The Network raises money to help empower people, touched by lung cancer, to live their lives to the fullest.


Programs and Services

Programs and services provided include:

  • Fundraising - various events to raise funds including the Lunch for Lung Cancer
  • Patient support services - publishment of personal accounts of experiences with lung cancer to raise awareness and understanding of issues faced by people with lung cancer
  • Advocacy - development and sponsorship of lung cancer nurses or cancer nurse coordinators
  • Education - various information booklets and educational resources available on the website
