The Virtual Medical Centre is Australia’s Number 1 health information and education website that delivers reliable, trustworthy information to health consumers and medical professionals. Each month more than 600,000 visitors view more than 2 million pages of information that has been quality controlled uniquely by more than 1,000 Australian medical specialists. The health portal delivers 600 online and accredited educational programs for General Practitioners. Thousands of Australian doctors actively refer their patients to the website for more information about their conditions. The website was founded by a Western Australian cancer specialist - Dr Andrew Dean - 8 years ago to deliver much needed cancer information to his patients. At times of stress, when people have been devastated by a positive diagnosis of cancer or a life-threatening disease, information retention is at its poorest.
