Virtual Medical Centre (VMC) is Australia's leading medical information website. It delivers the latest medical information written by medical professionals. As a visitor or member of VMC's website (site), you are interested in knowing more about health issues for you, someone close to you or your practice.

The VMC site and its contents comply with Australian laws and regulations. If you do not agree to VMC's terms and conditions, privacy policy, copyright information and user generated content guidelines, please do not use the site.

This is a binding agreement between VMC and you. Patient information

The site may enable you to transmit, store, review or receive confidential patient information via its user generated content sections. You must comply with Australian privacy laws.

VMC does not assume any responsibility for your use or misuse of patient information. VMC reserves the right to amend or delete any material and your membership to VMC that in our sole discretion violates this agreement. See user generated content guidelines.

Termination

Your membership and use of the site and its materials immediately terminates without further notice if you breach this agreement.

Links to other materials

VMC is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of any linked site or material. If you choose to access linked sites or materials, you do so at your own risk. VMC may terminate any link or linking program at any time.

Security

Only currently licensed health professionals may access the password secure professional level of VMC and our professional publications. You require a username and password to access these.

You are solely responsible for:

maintaining the strict confidentiality of your username and password;
not allowing another person to use your information to access the site;
any damages or losses that may be incurred or suffered as a result of you or your failure to maintain the strict confidentiality of site access; and
promptly informing VMC in writing of any need to deactivate your site access due to potential or actual security concerns.

Limitation of liability

VMC does not recommend or endorse any site materials or information and does not assume any legal liability or responsibility for their accuracy, currency or completeness. The materials and information are provided without any express or implied warranties of any kind.

VMC makes no warranties that your access or use of the site will be:

uninterrupted or error-free;
free of viruses or harmful material; or
will meet your satisfaction.

VMC is not liable to you or any 3rd party for any claim, loss or damages arising out of your use of the site or its materials. Your reliance upon VMC's materials are solely at your own risk.

Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify VMC against any losses, expenses or damages incurred from:

your breach of this agreement;
your unauthorised or unlawful use of the site or its materials;
unauthorised or unlawful use of the site by another person using your ID.

Dispute resolution

Any dispute between you and VMC will be resolved first by direct communication with the VMC management team. If the dispute cannot by resolved in this way, you may submit your issues to arbitration for a final and binding decision
