Indication of Burinex:
Bumetanide is a diuretic that helps the kidneys to remove excess fluid from the body. Excess fluid may be due to heart failure and diseases of the liver and kidneys and can cause swelling of the legs, fluid in the abdomen and may cause shortness of breath due to fluid in the lungs.Action of Burinex:
Bumetanide is a diuretic that acts on the kidney to increase salt and water loss. The greater then dose that is given, the greater the amount of salt and water that is lost. By losing water via the kidneys the excess fluid present in the lungs, abdomen and limbs is removed.
Bumetanide works very quickly after it is given and its effect only lasts for a short period of time.
Dose Advice of Burinex:
Most patients will take one 1 mg tablet once a day either in the morning or in the early evening. If your doctor feels this dosage is not effective the dose can be increased up to a maximum of 10 mg. Taking butmetanide on alternate days or for 3 to 4 days with rest periods of 1 to 2 days in between is the safest and most effective way to give bumetanide in patients who continually develop oedema.Page 1 2
