Indication of Rhinocort Aqueous Nasal Spray:

  • Allergic rhinitis
  • Vasomotor rhinitis
  • Nasal polyposis

    Action of Rhinocort Aqueous Nasal Spray:

  • Produce local anti-inflammatory effects, decrease capillary permeability and mucous production, and produce vasoconstriction in the nasal mucosa.
  • Onset of action within 3-7 hours; effective on an as-needed basis; optimum effect after several days of regular use.

    Dose advice of Rhinocort Aqueous Nasal Spray:

    Rhinocort Aqueous: Nasal spray; 64mcg/dose; 120 doses.Adult:
  • Initially 1-2 sprays into each nostril once daily, then 1 spray into each nostril once daily.Child > 3 years:
  • 1 spray into each nostril once daily. Pregnancy:
  • Safe to use.Lactation:
  • Safe to use.

    Common side effects of Rhinocort Aqueous Nasal Spray:

  • Nasal stinging, itching
  • Sneezing
  • Sore throat
  • Dry mouth
  • Cough

    Uncommon side effects of Rhinocort Aqueous Nasal Spray:

  • Nose bleed
  • Nasal septal perforation
  • Glaucoma
  • Cataract
  • Allergic reactions (urticaria, angioedema, bronchospasm, rash)
  • Patients transferred from oral to nasal steroids may have impaired adrenal function
  • Nasal corticosteroids may cause nose bleeding in people with bleeding disorders
  • Nasal corticosteroids may delay healing in patients who have recently undergone surgery or trauma
  • Systemic adverse effects are rare with nasal corticosteroid preparations when used at recommended doses. Occurrence of systemic adverse effects depends on amount of systemic absorption, which is influenced by dosage, duration of treatment and delivery system used.
  • Adrenal impairment: may occur with high doses
  • Bone density loss: clinical implications concerning the risk of osteoporosis and fracture are still unknown
  • Glaucoma, cataract: risk may be increased.
  • Skin thinning and bruising: may occur with high doses
  • Impaired growth: corticosteroids may reduce growth velocity mainly in the first year of treatment; effect on growth of other organs (e.g. brain and lung) is not well known.
